After being deadlocked and getting sent back to come to a decision, jurors have finished the day still without coming to a ruling on the Britney Spears court case. The California jury came back with the notification that they were still deadlocked in regards to whether Britney Spears broke the law by driving without a valid California state license. The charge is a misdemeanor in the state of California, but has received a lot of "buzz" simply because it is Britney Spears that is involved in the case.

It was reported by TMZ back in an October 8th article that the L.A. prosecutor's office offered he a deal of a $150 fine as well as 12 months probation to make the trial go away. Her lawyer, Michael Flanagan, had said that they declined the deal because they weren't going to "cop a plea to a criminal offense." So a jury was selected, the witnesses were heard, and Britney Spears got her trial to decide if she did in fact break the law by driving without a California driver's license.

On the one hand, the case seems pretty open and shut, and something that wouldn't normally go to trial all at the same time. All of the money being spent to have this trial, all taken from the tax-payers pocket, and all because another celebrity couldn't be bothered to just go apply for her own state license. It would seem like an easy endeavor for a pop princess such as Britney Spears, and could have avoided all of this mess without even having to go to trial.

This isn't the first time that Spears has had a run-in with the law, as she has been pulled over a few times, and also has been involved in several accidents where she hit parked cars. For a while it seemed as if trouble was following Spears everywhere she went, and it led to a few problems in her personal life that ended up getting resolved in the courts. At one time, she wasn't even in charge of her own finances, when it was deemed necessary to put her father in charge of all her assets for a short time.
